Allotment of Land for Cold Storage for Fruits & Vegetables in Marketing Yards

The fruits and vegetables are perishable items.Due to this perishable nature, cultivators cannot store their produce by traditional methods for a long time. They have to sell the produce immediately on the prevailing market rates. They cannot sell the produce on proper beneficial rates, so they suffer loss. The state Govt. has sanctioned a scheme of Cold Storage to overcome such situation. For this, allotment of land in marketing yards is being done, so that the cultivators may store their produce and sell them at appropriate time when he may get maximum benefit.
